GMC baseball ready to come out hitting

The Georgia Military College Prep (GMCP) Bulldogs are preparing for a 2026 baseball season that will begin Feb. 9 with a cross-town road trip to Baldwin County High School.The Bulldogs finished with an 11-18 record and fourth-place finish in A D2 Region 5 last season.

Four consecutive wins for the Baldwin boys’ basketball team kept the Braves in contention for the GHSA AAA Region 4 regular season title after a loss to Cross Creek two weeks ago dropped them to second in the region standings.

Georgia College & State University opened the 2026 baseball season with a doubleheader loss to top-ranked Tampa on Jan. 31 at John Kurtz Field.The early setback gave the Bobcats an immediate test as they try to build momentum and contend again in the Peach Belt Conference this spring.

Baldwin builds on winning record

The Baldwin Braves basketball team improved their overall record to 14-2 with a 62-55 win over Harlem last Tuesday. The week before, the Braves scored a dominant win over West Laurens, followed by a narrow 63-62 victory over Cedar Shoals at the Georgia Interstate Hoops Classic.

Bobcat basketball defeats Columbus State

The Columbus State men’s basketball team took on Georgia College & State University Jan.14 at GCSU’s Centennial Center in Milledgeville.Both teams entered the night 5-2 in Peach Belt Conference play, giving the game significant meaning in the standings.

Milledgeville students play in GEC

Local football players from John Milledge Academy and Georgia Military College Prep attended the 2025 Georgia Elite Classic held Dec. 28 at Barron Stadium in Rome.

JMA teammates earn all-state honors

Bernis becomes all-time digs leader for Bobcats

Alanis Bernis became the Georgia College & State University all-time digs leader Nov. 13, though Emmanuel University defeated the Bobcats 25-15, 25-12 and 25-15 in a non-conference volleyball match that evening at GCSU’s Centennial Center.

The John Milledge Academy (JMA) Trojans are going back to the GIAA AAA state semi-finals for the seventh time in eight years following a dominant 56-0 performance against Piedmont Academy last Friday night in Milledgeville.
