Three GMC Dogs named to All-State

The Georgia Military Prep (GMC Prep) Bulldogs boys’ soccer team had a fantastic 2026 season, capturing its fourth state championship in program history. After the season ended, three Bulldogs were named GHSA A DII first-team All-State members, with Tommy Carty, Greyson Robbins, and James Portwood making the squad. Along with first team honors Carty was named the GHSA A DII All-State Player of the Year.

Carty had a fantastic season, setting the GMC Prep single-game scoring record with eight points on three goals and two assists vs Wheeler County on March 20. For the season, Carty had 59 total points on 24 goals and 11 assists. Robbins had 18 goals, 15 assists, and 51 total points. Portwood was the Bulldogs only junior to make the All-State team and made the team by scoring 12 goals with 11 assists for 35 total points.

After the Bulldogs’ 3-1 state championship victory over Atkinson County, head coach Dustin Jeanette spoke about this past season’s seniors and what they meant to him and the GMC Prep soccer program.

“I’ve always called this group of seniors ‘my boys’,” Jeanette said. “Some of them I coached from the time they started playing soccer in rec department. I was their club coach up until I joined the GMC eighth grade (team).”

“I’ll remember this group forever. One of them is my own kid, like I said, so that just makes it even more special.

“I tried to have some words with them after we dismissed the last practice before the state championship game and I couldn’t even get a sentence out. That’s what they mean to me.”

On April 7, Robbins committed to GMC’s junior college soccer program where he will further both his athletic and academic careers starting this fall.
