Georgia Military College Prep (1-4, 0-0) is coming off a bye week, which it utilized to work on the fundamentals. The Bulldogs are riding momentum after picking up their first win of the season against Riverside Military Academy on Sept.

Spalding routs Baldwin Braves in region opener

Baldwin’s chances of returning to the state playoffs for a seventh straight year got slimmer on Friday. The Braves (1-4, 0-1 Region 2-AAAA) opened up region play against Spalding last week. The Jaguars (3-2, 1-0 Region 2-AAAA) routed Baldwin 40-14 at Braves Field.

Bobcat soccer 3-1 in conference play

Georgia College & State University soccer started off the conference stronger than ever taking three wins early. The Bobcats started their conference skate with Young Harris College. The bobcats took the 1-0 second-half win.

Georgia defeats Golden Flashes in ugly win

Georgia’s matchup with Kent State didn’t go as planned; however, the No. 1 Bulldogs still defeated the Golden Flashes 39-22 Saturday at Sanford Stadium. Kent State (1-3) played well and kept Georgia (4-0, 1-0 SEC) off balance in all facets of the game.

After what some Bulldog fans may call a “lackluster” 39-22 victory over the Golden Flashes of Kent State, the Georgia Bulldogs football team (4-0, 1-0 SEC) looks ahead to its second conference game of the season. The Bulldogs will travel to Columbia, Mo.

Already, we are seeing, graphically, the effect that money is having on the coaching profession today. It is nothing new, but the intensity and the pressure have been ramped up dramatically. You win, praise is over the top, although there will always be carping and griping.

Trojans maintain perfect record by slaying Knights

John Milledge Academy (4-0) continued its winning ways last Friday with a crushing 63-13 victory over Frederica Academy (1-3). The JMA Trojans had six players reach the Knights’ end zone, led by senior quarterback Briggs Eady and freshman running back Carsyn Baker.
