Bobcat volleyball’s Roberts among nationally ranked

Georgia College & State University (GSCU) Volleyball (9-11, 5-4 PBC) has a wall at the net and that’s in great part thanks to middle blocker Brooke Roberts, from Rome. Roberts not only ranks nationally in two different blocking categories, but also is within the top 10 for both.

Bobcat soccer goes 1-1 on the week

Conference play for the Georgia College & State University (GCSU) women’s soccer team (5-5-2, 4-2-1 PBC) delivered a win and a loss last week. The first contest was against the lone winless team in the conference, Albany State University, and the Bobcats added to ASU’s streak of futility Oct.

Trojans blow past Pinewood Christian

John Milledge Academy (6-0) kept its winning streak alive on Monday against Pinewood Christian (3-3). The Trojans blew past the Patriots 55-0 during a rematch of the 2021 GISA Class 3A state championship game. They have now won 43 straight contests, dating back to 2018.

Bulldogs fall to Trojans in region opener

The Georgia Military Prep Bulldogs lost a tough game on the road against the Johnson County Trojans last Thursday. The 48-10 defeat was the Bulldogs’ first region game of the 2022 season, and head coach Lee Coleman knew it was going to be a difficult game to win.

Smart: ‘We did not play well’

Top-ranked Georgia got a taste of reality Saturday on Faurot Field at Mizzou’s Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs competed in a four-quarter clash with Missouri and came out on top with a 26-22 victory. But the Tigers led Georgia until late in the contest.

Bulldogs prepare for ‘Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry’

The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry renews itself for the 126th time this Saturday, as No. 2 Georgia (5-0, 2-0 SEC) will host Auburn (3-2, 1-1 SEC) at Sanford Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS.

Braves blow out Howard in much-needed win

The Baldwin Braves had a rough start to their season but got a muchneeded victory over region foe Howard (Macon) on Friday night. They defeated the Huskies 45-0 behind a full-team effort on all sides of the ball.

Bobcat volleyball goes 1-1 for the week

Georgia College & State University (8-10, 4-3 PBC) took both a midweek win out-of-conference over Albany State University and a midweek loss to conference foe Augusta University. The Bobcats took on Albany State Sept. 27, and took the 3-1 win.
