At home in Milledgeville, the Baldwin Braves won their most tightly contested game of the year last Friday beating Howard 20-19 to improve 4-2 on the season. Both teams entered the matchup at 3-2, and both were in their first region game of the season.

With new quarterback Solomon Burney at the helm, the John Milledge Academy (JMA) Trojans captured their sixth straight win of the season last Friday, beating the Pinewood Patriots 49-33 on the road.

John Milledge Academy (JMA) hosted the Brookwood Warriors last Friday on Homecoming night in Milledgeville, where the Trojans won 62-28 at Trojan Field. It marked the fifth win in as many games for JMA this year and extended the organization’s winning streak to 55 over the last five seasons.

Bulldogs’ tight end Brock Bowers reached a historic career milestone in Georgia’s win over UAB-Birmingham last Saturday. Bowers hauled in nine receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns against the Blazers.

The GMC Prep Bulldogs will begin region play on Friday when they host the Johnson County Trojans at Davenport Field. GMC Prep is sporting a 1-4 record after its first win of the season came two weeks ago when it beat Riverside Military Academy by a score of 46-12 in Gainesville.
