County votes to keep carts on course

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday to approve two fiscal matters and hear updates on county projects.The board discussed the lease-purchase agreement for 50 golf carts with smart GPS controls at the golf course.

Baldwin County announces proposed property tax increase

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners announced its intention to increase the property taxes it will levy this year by 17.28% over the rollback millage rate.Each year, the board of tax assessors is required to review the assessed value for property tax purposes of taxable property in the county.

State tax revenues up in August

Georgia tax collections rose by 2.4% last month compared to August of last year, largely driven by an increase in sales tax revenues.The state Department of Revenue brought in nearly $2.34 billion in August, an increase of $54.3 million over the same month a year ago.

The Milledgeville City Council met Tuesday to conduct a public hearing regarding a duplex apartment and discuss multiple resolutions.A resident came before council to ask to rezone property to a multifamily zone located at 230 N. Warren St. for a duplex apartment.

GMC hosts rare commissioning program

Georgia College hosts PIN Creative Showcase

Georgia College & State University hosted the Partnership of Inclusive Innovation’s (PIN) Creative Showcase. At this event, Georgia College and three educational institutions presented an overview of their 2024 projects funded by PIN.
