Georgia College and the Flannery O’Connor Institute for the Humanities is hosting free oral history classes for the public through a three-year oral history grant funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The goal is to teach the community another method to preserve local history.

Baldwin County announced last week that it has been awarded a $1.25 million grant and County Manager Carlos Tobar said he hopes this type of funding will become an annual allocation to the local government.

CORRECTION: Jail Report Charges

The jail report in last week’s paper included a misprint of the charges listed for Wyatt Lanier Olgers. The correct charges were driving without license on person, driving under the influence of alcohol, and not having lighted headlights during required times.

Dantzler paints positive picture for Dawgs this year

When Georgia Bulldogs announcer Jeff Dantzler last visited Baldwin County for his annual preseason commentary, he was asking, “Why not us?” The question referenced UGA’s opportunity in 2023 to win three national championships in a row.
