One lap. That’s all it took for Ross Chastain to drop a watermelon and raise a trophy in celebration. The 29-year old Floridian led only the last – typically frantic – lap in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday to take his second career Cup Series victory.

Bobcats finish sweep on Senior Day

Although the sky threatened to ruin the festivities taking place at John Kurtz Field Saturday afternoon, the clouds held off just long enough for the Bobcats to celebrate their seniors as well as finish a sweep of the Claflin University Panthers.

The John Milledge Academy Baseball team (14-4) faced off against Southland Academy Raiders (9-9) in a non-region game on April 19th at 4:30 p.m. Cooper Wilburn started on the mound for the Trojans and as usual, pitched a great game.
