5th annual GWM children’s spooky story contest

Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) has announced its fifth-annual Spooky Story Contest for children, open to all residents and students in grades three to eight across the state of Georgia. Entrants are encouraged to submit their spookiest creative writing stories from Sept. 15 to Oct.

Top-ranked Georgia (2-0) will now shift focus to South Carolina (1-1, 0-1 SEC) after defeating FCS opponent Samford 33-0 in its home opener last Saturday at Sanford Stadium. Meanwhile, No. 10 Arkansas defeated the Gamecocks 44-30 this past weekend.

On Sept. 4, law enforcement was dispatched to Floyd L. Griffin Jr. Street in reference to an entering auto. The victim reported that his vehicle was broken into during the night and that he discovered several compartments in the vehicle open the next morning.
