GCSU softball opens 2023 season with home tourney

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) softball kicks off its 2023 campaign Feb. 4-5, hosting the seasonopening Bobcat Kickoff Tournament at the GCSU Peeler Complex. The Bobcats will kick off their season with an 11 a.m. first pitch against Emmanuel College.

Baldwin basketball gets back on track against Griffin

The Baldwin boys’ basketball team has had some unfortunate results recently, but that hasn’t stopped them from competing for a region championship. The Braves are 12-9 on the season and 7-3 in region play but have dropped three of their last four.

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) men’s basketball (6-13, 2-8 PBC) suffered a pair of tough home losses last week. The first came Wednesday in a 69-54 loss to Lander University. The next was Saturday in a close 69-64 contest against Columbus State University.

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) women’s basketball (12-8, 4-6 PBC) picked up a mid-week win over Lander University (LU) and suffered a tough loss to Columbus State University (CSU) in a pair of home games over the weekend.

Georgia College & State University womens’ basketball (11-7, 3-5 PBC) seems to have found its rhythm after a tough start upon returning from winter break. The visiting Bobcats picked up their third conference win by stunning Clayton State University (8-9, 3-5 PBC) 60-58 with a last-second layup.
