Back-to-back losses for men’s hoops

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) men’s basketball (7-16, 3-11, PBC) took two tough losses against USC Aiken and Georgia Southwestern State University. At home against USC Aiken Feb. 8, the Bobcats took the early lead with a three-point bucket from Ian Davis on the opening play of the game.

Trojans hope to close out season on high note

John Millege Academy boys’ basketball started out the season strong with a 13-0 record. However, since beginning region play Jan. 17, the Trojans have dropped two games - both to Stratford Academy - but hope to end the regular season strong this week.

GCSU Softball opens season 3-1 at Peeler Complex

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) softball swept a pair of games against Fort Valley State University (FVSU), then split with Emmanuel College (EC) to officially open its 2023 campaign at home this week at the Peeler Complex.

GMC football coach to be inducted into Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2023 inductees in January and among the honorees is the late Bert Williams, former GMC athletic director and head coach of the Junior College football team. Williams retired in 2020 after a 23-year career at GMC.

GCSU men split basketball road matches

A pair of last-second free throws by Suwannee’s Brendan Rigsbee gave the Georgia College & State University (GCSU) men’s basketball team (7-14, 3-9 PBC) an 89-88 upset win at Flagler College Feb. 1, but three days later came an 86-61 loss at Augusta University (AU).

Bravettes blow through competition in January

Since the squad’s one-point loss to Griffin at the beginning of January, the Baldwin girls’ basketball team has been dominating the competition this month. After this past Tuesday, the Bravettes moved to 8-1 in region play and have won 10 games straight.
