Georgia Military College (GMC) Junior College Women’s Golf is making its presence known in just the fourth full year of the program. Sadie Norman is officially the sixth Bulldog to qualify for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Championship.
“I am so excited for this opportunity to test my skill against the best in the country,” she said.
Norman has enjoyed an outstanding freshman campaign with an 83.50 scoring average and ranked in the top half of all women's junior college golfers in the country.
“We are very excited about her success,” GMC JC Golf Coach Kirk Kayden said. “She is very competitive and has a great mindset. I am confident she will bring her A-game at the national championship.”
Originally from Moultrie, where she attended Colquitt County High School, Norman was part of one of the state’s top 7A girls' golf programs. In her junior and senior years, she led her team to a pair of fourth-place finishes at the GHSA State Championship while earning 6th and 12th individually.
Norman also was vital to the South team’s win in the 2022 Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association's North-South All-Star Matchplay event. Now, she is looking to become GMC’s first Women's Golf All-American.
The NJCAA National Championship are taking place May 9-12, at Buffalo Dunes Golf Club in Garden City, Kan.
