William Harris “Bill” Chambers, Jr., 84, passed away on May 1, 2026. Moores Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Rose Smith Chambers, two sons William Harris “Billy” Chambers, III (Marcy) and Jess Chambers (Christina) all of Jones County, three daughters Jill Chambers Myers (Ken) of Byron, Kay Chambers Brooks (Trippe), of Milledgeville, and Beth Chambers of Jones County, two sisters Mary Ann Washburn of Jones County, and Sara Frances Kiker of Dalton, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

• Clifton Fountain, 68, passed away on May 4, 2026. Slater’s Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

• Calvin P. Minter, 98, passed away on April 29, 2026. Williams Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Survivors include daughters, Pam Weaver (Bobby), Paula Landrum (Guy) and Dawn Pinnell (Travis) and son in law, John Livingston; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. Minter was a lifelong resident of Baldwin County. He was retired from Engelhard Minerals & Chemicals and was a member of Cooperville Baptist Church.

• Gladys Reese Monhi, 67, passed away on April 23, 2026. Williams Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. The service is set for Saturday, May 9 at 3 p.m. at Williams. Survivors include her husband, Robert Michael Mohni; son, Charles Rawls (Courtney); brothers, Jimmy Watson and Singleton Watson II; nieces and nephews, Sabrina Abrams, Angel Abrams, Singleton Watson III, Bobby Watson, Latonya Jordan, and a host of other nieces and nephews.

• Mary W. Neely, 82, passed away on May 3, 2026. Peoples Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. for her crochet work. Everyone in her church had something that she had made for them, be it a quilt, a baby blanket, a doily, or some other crochet creation. She played three games of Solitaire, each and every day, win or lose, to “keep her mind sharp.”family and friends, Veal had a deep love for country living,
