Habitat provides chance to honor Carter

Milledgeville-Baldwin County Habitat for Humanity is inviting the Baldwin County community to honor President Jimmy Carter’s life and service by signing a commemorative door.

President Carter was a tireless humanitarian and a dedicated volunteer to Habitat for Humanity.

The door will be available for signing at theMilledgeville Government Center, Suite 230, at 1601 N. Columbia Street in Milledgeville through Friday, Jan. 17.

It will later be permanently displayed in the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Community Room, alongside a door honoring Rosalynn Carter.

“We warmly invite the community to honor President Carter’s life by signing the commemorative door. This symbolic tribute represents the countless doors President Carter opened for others through his commitment to service and humanity,” shared Ivey Hall, executive director of Macon Area Habitat for Humanity.
