Middle Georgia Regional Library (MGRL) received a $10,000 grant from the Flint Energies Foundation to expand its digital library collection of eBooks and e-Audiobooks alongside the Houston County Public Library System, Peach County Public Libraries, Pine Mountain Regional Library System, and Lake Blackshear Regional Library System.

“We are incredibly excited and grateful to have collaborated with four other library systems to obtain this grant for electronic materials,” said Library Director Jennifer Lautzenheiser. “By partnering with these systems through our combined digital libraries under the umbrella of the Georgia Download Destination (GADD), we are actually celebrating a $50,000 overall investment in our eBooks and e-Audiobook collections.”

GADD is an online platform that offers patrons downloadable eBooks, e-Audiobooks, and digital magazines from member library systems across the state.

Last year, MGRL announced its newest digital resource, the Palace Project, which brings eLibrary collections including GADD together within a single, centralized platform boasting more than 216,000 eBook and e-Audiobook titles available at no cost for library patrons to enjoy.

This latest contribution from the Flint Energies Foundation enables MGRL to increase its range of materials offered and extend its reach in promoting print and digital literacy.

Anyone can access MGRL’s free eLibrary resources, found at bibblib.org, by registering for a PINES Library card. The Palace App is available for Android or iOS smartphones and tablets through the App Store and Google Play.
