Fouts Bros showcases its impact in community, economy

Baldwin County dignitaries had the chance to become better acquainted with one of the county’s newer businesses, Fouts Bros, Inc., during an open house event Nov. 7.

Autumn Dash 5K helps feed families over the holidays

Ragtag Running and Morning Grind hosted an inaugural Autumn Dash 5K Nov. 16 as a food drive to support Cafe Central.“This 5K was a culmination of what we have been building over the last six months between our local running club and Morning Grind.

Shoplifter apprehended at WalmartOn Nov. 14, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart at 2592 N.Columbia St., in reference to a shoplifter in custody. Nancy Beasley was caught passing the last point of sale with eight items not paid for totaling $105.17.

High-speed chase ends in two arrests

A high-speed chase that began in Baldwin County Saturday raced through Jones County before it ended in Putnam County. Once captured, the two Baldwin women in the car each told authorities a different story.

Commissioners hear proposed budget break-down

The Baldwin County Board of commissioners heard a budget presentation and hosted the budget public hearing on Tuesday.According to Assistant County Manager Dawn Hudson, the budget process began in August and all the requests totaled $2.9 million.

Georgia College celebrates 135th birthday

Georgia College & State University celebrated its Charter Day or 135th birthday Nov. 8, which is the anniversary of the date in 1889 when Gov. John B. Gordon signed a bill into law establishing Georgia Normal & Industrial College.
