Construction begins for first Habitat home

Construction of the first of four Habitat for Humanity houses being built in Baldwin County began Jan. 17 at 2254 Leo Court. The houses are being funded by a $600,000 grant provided by The Community Home Investment Program.

GCSU nears completion of music rehearsal hall

Georgia College’s Department of Music is nearing the end of construction for its new music rehearsal building.Construction of the building began in July of 2024, but design efforts began in June and official planning began two years prior. According to Department Chair Dr.

City Council approves LED roadway lighting; district changes may occur

The Milledgeville City Council met on Tuesday evening to approve the installation of two more LED roadway lights on Leo Court. City Manager Hank Griffeth also provided a report on the development of a redistricting process for Baldwin County due to changes in the 2020 census.
At the January Learning in Retirement meeting, guest speaker Dr. Cliff Towner, director of band activities and professor of music at Georgia College & State University, shared that the 2025 Spring Semester Music Season offers more than 20 performances. The majority of these performances are free of charge to the community. Email music@gcsu.edu to be included on the music promotion email or visit the website at music. gcsu.edu. CONTRIBUTED

Individual refuses to return carOn Jan. 23, law enforcement made contact with Blake Miles at Enterprise, at 2485 N. Columbia St., in reference to a vehicle not being returned. Miles stated Dec. 10 Victoria Wiley rented a 2025 silver Chevrolet Malibu and was supposed to return the vehicle on Jan.
