In memory of BCSD’s social worker Scott-Little

The Baldwin County School District (BCSD) recently announced the passing of the district’s social worker, Ola Scott-Little. Scott-Little worked as a social worker for 27 years, 23 of those years being in Baldwin County. She was the only social worker serving the Baldwin County School District.

Capitol Beat: State Senate committee passes sports betting bill

A state Senate committee overwhelmingly approved legislation Tuesday legalizing sports betting in Georgia. Under Senate Bill 386, which the Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee passed 8-2, the Georgia Lottery Corp. would award 16 licenses to sports betting operators.

Shooter arrested at AM City Package; man wounded

On Jan. 25, law enforcement responded to shots fired and a male subject being injured at AM City Package at 1557 Vinson Hwy. Officers canvassed the parking lot and bystanders reportedly began pointing beside the business where a gray Ford Crown Victoria was parked.

Milledgeville talks water, sewer rates

The mayor and the city council of Milledgeville unofficially agreed this week to water and sewer system rate increases, a phase-in period for the higher charges, and the effective date of the changes.
