Man charged with statutory rape, aggravated sodomy

A 29-year-old Milledgeville man was arrested late last week and charged with two counts of statutory rape and one count of aggravated sodomy.

Abel David Kadlec was booked at the county jail and denied bond.

Several different encounters are being investigated, according to Det. Shawn Isley with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Isley added that Kadlec and the suspect did not live with each other.d or revoked license.

• A deputy responded to Midway Hills Elementary “about a student possibly being abused at home.” A school counselor was interviewed and relayed to the deputy that an 11-year-old student “came to her and disclosed possible abuse happening” at home. The deputy was shown pictures of the child “that depicted welts and scratches on her arms and face.” The counselor “stated the injuries came from a belt.” A DFCS officer arrived at the school, and the child was interviewed. Added the incident report: “It was discovered that (the student) has an older sister who goes to Baldwin High School, and the sister had disclosed the incident to her counselor as well.” Eventually arrested and charged with one count of first degree child cruelty was Teresa Smith, 41. First degree child cruelty, in this instance, is described in the Official Code of Georgia as “when such person maliciously causes a child under the age of 18 cruel or excessive physical or mental pain.”

• Break-ins, thefts and/or entering autos were reported in the 1360 block of Irwinton Road, the 230 block of Sara Hunter Lane, the 160 block of Lodestone Drive and the 150 block of Highview Road.

In Milledgeville Police DepartmentNews:

• Two people from Eatonton were arrested during late-night downtown bar hours. Ashton Armstrong, 17, was charged with one count of battery and one count of simple battery, while Hollie Annalyse Bean, 20 was charged with one count of battery. Armstrong is accused of punching a man in the face. Meanwhile, Bean and Armstrong’s 16-year-old girlfriend are accused of pulling a woman’s hair and kicking the victim while she was on the ground. The female victim had “bruising to her face in multiple areas.” A juvenile complaint form was taken out on the 16-year-old girlfriend.

• A man was arrested after reportedly driving drunk and crashing his pickup truck into a light pole in Carrington Woods. Donald Shireffs, listed with a Warner Robins address, was charged with DUI and open container. During a search, “a small amount of suspected cocaine was discovered” and “the substance was disposed of.”

• Sommer Noel Henon, listed with an Eatonton address, was arrested for misdemeanor theft by shoplifting after stuffing $82 worth of store items into her handbag at Walmart.

• A man said that two women stole $1,036 while he was asleep in his hotel room at the Laquinta Inn. The victim said the theft followed a night of “hanging out and engaging in sexual acts while drinking alcohol and doing cocaine.” The victim knew one of the victims by name and had her phone number, but she “had not been answering her phone.”

• Somebody in California used a man’s debit card information to order $118 worth of Domino’s pizza.

• Shawn Michael Peters, listed with a Haddock address, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting after reportedly phantom swiping 11 items at a Walmart selfcheckout register.

• Kalyiah Byrd was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting after reportedly phantom swiping 14 items at a Walmart selfcheckout register.

• Thefts, break-ins and/or entering autos were reported in the 2305 block of Sherry Circle, the 1950 block of Holly Hill Road, the 1840 block of Holly Hill Road, the 280 block of Lewis Court, the 130 block of West Charlton Street and Warehouse Solutions on Ga. 22 West.
