Lake home could set local record

It would set the record for the most expensive singlefamily residential property sale in county history.

The property at 166A PA Johns Road, located near the country club, currently is on the market for $2.95 million dollars. Kim and Lin Logan Real Estate, based on Lake Oconee, is the listing realtor. Reads the listing: “Perfectly positioned on a point lot with over 300 feet of water frontage, panoramic lake views, clear water, and a double-stall boathouse, this exceptional property truly checks all the boxes.”

Twenty years ago, leading up to the Great Recession, it was a big deal when a home on Lake Sinclair sold for more than $500,000. That now seems like ancient history, as some lakehouses now sell for three times or even four times that amount.

Thirteen different Lake Sinclair homes have now sold more than $1 million in the last 18 months. Three of those went for more than $2 million. Those were on Lakeview Drive, Lakeshore Circle, Daisy Trail, White Oak Cove, Old Plantation Trail, Mariners Drive, Island View Drive, Sportsman Circle, Parham Road, Jule Ingram Road, Waits Road and Rocky Creek Road.

Those lake prices are “expensive” for Baldwin County; however, it’s all relative. On nearby Lake Oconee, Kim and Lin Logan Realty’s website currently has seven different homes for sale at $7 million or more, including one for $14.4 million.

The listed Johns Road home was built in 2007 and it sits on 1.44 acres. It most recently sold in 2020 for $1.115 million.
