Bulldogs back in Atlanta for SEC Championship

For the second-straight year, the Georgia Bulldogs are heading back to the SEC Championship game. After beating in-state rival Georgia Tech 37-14 last Saturday, Georgia now could capture something it hasn’t been able to since 2017: an SEC title.

Trojans to face Deerfield-Windsor in state title

The stage is set for the GIAA Class AAA state championship game. John Milledge Academy’s Trojans (12-0) and the Deerfield-Windsor Knights (10-2) will square off at 8 p.m. Thursday at Mercer University’s Five Star Stadium in Macon for the Georgia state title.

John Milledge Academy made history Friday night with its 42-7 victory over the Heritage School. The Trojans set a new Georgia high school football state record with the win over the Hawks. That mark was previously held by GHSA’s Buford, which won 47 straight from 2001-2004.

McIntosh runs wild on a career day in Lexington

No. 1 Georgia turned to running back Kenny McIntosh to carry the load Saturday. The senior had a career game as the Bulldogs defeated Kentucky 16-6 to wrap up SEC play. McIntosh rushed for a careerhigh 143 yards on 19 attempts with Georgia’s only TD in the win.

Braves, War Eagles hold scrimmage

The Putnam County boys’ basketball team got to scrimmage Baldwin High last week in Milledgeville before the season opener against Northside (Columbus) on Tuesday. The Braves, who ranked No. 4 in Class AAAA defeated the War Eagles, 62-55.

Historic night awaits JMA in first round of playoffs

John Milledge Academy head football coach J.T. Wall says Friday’s matchup with Heritage (Newnan) in the first round of the playoffs is “just another game” and he isn’t wrong. However, if the Trojans defeat the Hawks this Friday they will make history in the state of Georgia.
