Baldwin High School was recognized as a Safe Sports School by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, making it the 21st school in Georgia to receive the designation. The award honors schools that go above and beyond in student-athlete safety, emergency readiness, and wellness education.

Milledgeville man pleads to witness intimidation

A Milledgeville man was recently in Jones County Superior Court facing charges for four cases, including witness intimidation and forgery.Edward Jerome Broadus Jr. entered guilty pleas to two of the cases July 17, and the other two were dismissed as part of plea negotiations with the state.

Distraction-Free Education Act goes into effect this school year

This school year, House Bill 340, known as the Distraction- Free Education Act, goes into effect across the state of Georgia. The new law prohibits the use of personal electronic devices for students in grades K–8 during the instructional day and places new limitations for high school students.
