Baldwin nurse recognized for patient care

When a patient readmitted for care at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin began exhibiting concerning symptoms, Heather Hall, an Intensive Care Unit nurse at the hospital, knew just what to do.

Baldwin County opens Oconee Heights Mini Park

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners, County Manager Carlos Tobar, and many other county employees, state representatives, and citizens gathered Aug. 14 for Fun in the Heights, the debut of the Oconee Heights Mini Park.“The commissioners never gave up on Oconee Heights.

Since becoming the owners of their historic home 15 years ago, the couple has gradually transformed the extensive grounds into a series of gardens and architectural features. Major renovations to John Kurtz Field, home of the Georgia College Bobcats baseball team, are coming to elevate the fan experience at home games.The plans, according to Director of Athletics Wendell Staton, call for the existing bleachers and press box to be razed.

Man with outstanding warrants flees police with drugs

Officer Stephen Hutto was on patrol in the area of South Wayne Street and Effingham Road Aug. 11 when he saw Adrian Baker driving a silver Chrysler 300. Hutto knew Baker had several outstanding warrants, so he initiated a traffic stop.

Georgia Military College welcomed its 22nd president, Maj. Gen. Terrence J. McKenrick, and said goodbye to Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, IV Aug. 8 in a Change of Command ceremony hosted in the NewDay USA Center of Leadership.
