 During Stage 2 of the Round of 8 playoff race at Vegas, Bubba Wallace (back) and Kyle Larson wrecked down the front stretch on Lap 94 after the two made contact off Turn 4. Larson admitted to making an aggressive move that led to the wreck.

Lakeview staff member tests positive for Monkeypox

An unnamed staff member at Lakeview Primary School tested positive for monkeypox over fall break as stated in a statement released by The Baldwin County School District on Tuesday. According to the letter, the school was notified on Oct. 17 about the positive test results.

Woman arrested for assault after hitting ex’s partner with her vehicle

Local Walteria Dean was arrested for aggravated assault after intentionally hitting another woman with her car On Oct. 10, law enforcement was dispatched to 240 Pennington Road. On scene, they made contact with the assault victim, identified as 21-year-old Gabriel Strange of Milledgeville.

Three nabbed for entering unlocked autos

Three locals were arrested Oct. 16 in connection with an ongoing investigation into thefts involving unlocked cars and trucks around Baldwin County. Authorities impounded a car on Sunday connected to this spree of entering autos.

Baldwin County rehabilitates homes through CHIP grant

Baldwin County received a federally-funded $400,000 Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) grant this year. The purpose of the CHIP grant is to provide safe and affordable housing in Georgia.
