BOC votes to remove airport hangars from CIP

The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners finally took action Tuesday night on the airport issue that has been lingering for weeks. The project that has dominated the discussion and led to two delays in votes was the proposed construction of two hangers at the Baldwin County Regional Airport.

Man’s death investigated

A Milledgeville man’s death Sunday morning in Eatonton is being investigated by authorities to confirm the manner of death. Eatonton Police Chief Howell Cardwell said Stephen Beadles, age 31, was found dead in his car, which was parked on the southbound side of the road on the U.S. Hwy.

A former payroll clerk for the Milledgeville Housing Authority has pleaded guilty in federal court in Macon to stealing more than $575,000 by overpaying herself. Jennifer Kay Smith, 49, of Eatonton pleaded guilty Monday to one count of federal program theft.
