GOCHC works to preserve history in Baldwin County

May is National Historic Preservation month and in Baldwin County, Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at the Depot, Inc. (GOCHC) has been a forefront nonprofit organization that works continuously to preserve local history.

GMC hosts Memorial Day Parade

Georgia Military College hosted their Memorial Day Parade on Friday, May 13. Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country. Annually, GMC hosts a Memorial Day Parade to honor these lives and bring the community together for this occasion.

Church Central gives out thousands of articles of clothing for free

Church Central hosted a free yard sale that gave away thousands of clothes to the Milledgeville community. “Being generous is a part of what God has called us to do as believers,” said Jeff Simmons, pastor of Church Central.

Traditionally, a house without a porch would be like having a car without a radio. I spent the early part of my youth in a rambling house which had a rust red tin roof and a porch that meandered halfway round the house.
