Thunder’s creator leaves cherished icon for GCSU and community

Jason Hendrix, '09, knew something important was missing when he attended the Georgia College & State University (GCSU) basketball games as a junior. The other teams had mascots, but GCSU didn't.

GOCHC to host Seeking Asylum exhibit

Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at the Depot will be debuting Seeking Asylum on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29. Over the past year, photographer Jessica Whitehead has been working on a photography book related to Central State Hospital.

JMA debuts original play at one act competition

High schoolers at John Milledge Academy debuted an original play, Love’s Poison, at their one act competition on Oct. 29. “We had a smaller cast with majority females, so we were finding it difficult to pick a play,” said Rebecca Brasher, the school’s drama teacher and director of the play.
