Allied Arts presents Oconee Arts Exhibit

Milledgeville-Baldwin County Allied Arts, Inc.(Allied Arts) hosted the reception for the Oconee Arts Exhibit on May 12. Allied Arts hosted its annual Oconee Artist Contest through April 28, where artists from all over middle Georgia could submit their artwork for an exhibition in May and awards.

Stone Gable Farm, a local beef farm, sells to residents around the area, and keeps their cows happy while doing so. Chris Weidner, the farm owner, said he’s lived in Jones County since the late 1960s. He said he came to Jones County from Indiana, because his father bought land and was transferred.

Hometown Celebration promotes kids' businesses

Milledgeville’s downtown was decorated with vendors, entertainment and a Kids' Market for the Hometown Celebration hosted by Milledgeville Main Street, May 5. The Kids’ Market consisted of 10 booths, ranging from original hand-made bracelets to paintings and clay sculptures.
