GOCHC to host annual Lake Sinclair Poker Run

Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center (GOCHC) at the Depot will be hosting their annual Lake Sinclair Poker Run on Saturday, June 24. A Poker Run is a giant scavenger hunt on Lake Sinclair that includes a fun day on the water.
First Friday Beach Bash was full of visitors to Milledgeville’s mini beach in the parking lot of the Deep Roots stage area. Made from 80 tons of sand, the beach was littered with nets, balls, and pools for water and sandy activities.

Milledgeville Main Street, in partnership with Five Star Automotive Group, hosted First Friday’s Beach Bash in the parking lot area of the Deep Roots stage, June 2.

LEC and Morning Grind partner to debut Coffee for a Cause

The Life Enrichment Center’s (LEC) journey to extend educational opportunities and to create their Urban Arts Village continues with a heartfelt partnership between Morning Grind and the LEC. Morning Grind is a local coffee shop in Milledgeville owned by Bridgette and Jared Smith.

Last week, Georgia Military College (GMC) honored those who gave their lives to service through its Peace Officer Memorial Day Ceremony and Memorial Day parade. On Tuesday, GMC honored Peace Officer Memorial Day, which takes place during National Police Week.

Lake Oconee Elks Lodge visits Georgia War Veterans Home

The Lake Oconee Elks Lodge gave the residents of the Georgia War Veterans Home a grilled luncheon on Wednesday, May 3. The Elks served hot dogs, hamburgers and brats to 59 veterans and about 20 staff members. There were about 21 Elks volunteers who helped the veterans out to the pavilion.
