Milledgeville honors military heroes at Duke’s

For the sixth straight year, Duke’s Lounge and Dawg House hosted its Memorial Day tradition, the solemn playing of “Taps,” by trumpeter Col.Larry McClendon.

Exchange Bank awards scholarship to GMC student

Exchange Bank announced Caden Loyd as the recipient of its 2025 Baldwin County area scholarship. Loyd, a graduating senior of Georgia Military College Preparatory School, was honored with the $1,500 scholarship by Exchange Bank President and CEO John Childs during GMC’s recent Senior Honors Night.

OHMS instructor creates blooming agriculture program

Georgia College & State University confers 1,425 degrees

On May 9 and 10, Georgia College & State University conferred 1,425 degrees on both undergraduate and graduate students in the class of 2025. There were four spring commencement ceremonies held in the Centennial Center on the Georgia College campus.

Alligator spotted on Vinson Highway; stay alert

An alligator was sighted on Vinson Highway in Milledgeville near the Fall Line Freeway on the morning of May 15.Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the gator and maintained a safe perimeter until the Georgia Department of Natural Resources arrived.
