Betty Jean Murphy Lucas, 94, passed away on July 30, 2026. Moores Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Survivors include her son Randy Gilman (Debra) of Milledgeville, her daughterin-law Mary Gilman Smith of Dahlonega, two grandchildren Brandi Pearson (Rusty) and Heath Gilman (Haley), 8 great grandchildren Tyndle, Brody, Noah, and Coledryn Pearson, Grey, Adley and Addison Gilman and Hunter Brooks (Madison) and special nieces and nephews. A native of Hancock County, Lucas was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
