Nan Davis Carpenter, 91, passed away on April 6, 2026. Moores Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Survivors include her daughter Karyn Carpenter Martin and husband Ken Martin of Jefferson, grandson Matthew Davis Martin and his wife Payton Cox Martin, her niece Deborah Davis Duncan and husband Roger Duncan of Toccoa, her nephew Bruce Davis of Clarkesville, her niece Melinda Lawrence Leonard (Greg Malhoit) of Raleigh, NC, her nephew George Lawson Lawrence (Nisa Kahn) of Milledgeville, the widow of Royce Lawrence Terri Masneri Lawrence of Greenville, SC, great nieces Haley Moore, Katherine Bonner and husband Sam Bonner, great nephews Heath Lawrence and wife Ann Lawrence, Bart Lawrence and wife Ellen Lawrence, Matthew Leonard and wife Stacey Leonard, Justin Leonard and wife JoAnn Leonard, and Landon Lawrence. Carpenterbegan a career at Central State Hospital where she served as a Registered Dietician. She married her husband of 67 years, George S. Carpenter, Jr., in 1957 and resided at their home in Milledgeville until 2023. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir.
She was a member of the Milledgeville Garden Club that served Baldwin County through horticultural education, community beautification and conservation efforts.
