The Georgia Military Prep (GMCP) Bulldogs had a good bounce back last week, going 2-0 over Brentwood and Windsor after posting a 1-2 record the week before.
The Bulldogs did, however, lose their first game this week to Jasper County, falling 6-4 to the Hurricanes in Monticello.
The Bulldogs’ most impressive night came against the Brentwood Eagles last Tuesday in Sandersville. The Bulldogs defeated the Eagles 7-1 behind an outstanding performance from starter Ayden Hamm, who threw for five innings, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out 11 batters.
Relief pitcher Noah Goddard closed out the game with two perfect innings, allowing no hits, no runs, no walks, and striking out four Brentwood batters.
GMCP had a long wait between games, not seeing the field again until Saturday when they traveled to Macon to face Windsor. It turned into a highscoring matchup in which the Bulldogs scored 12 runs but allowed 10 to the Knights.
Five of the Bulldogs’ nine starters had two hits or more, including Lantz Holton, who led the team with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs.
It was not a pretty day for the Bulldogs’ pitching staff, however, as they allowed just two hits but walked a seasonhigh 19 batters.
GMCP hosted its first region game for 2026 on Tuesday vs. Wilkinson County (2-4) and dropped an 18-5 run-rule victory on the Warriors. A trip to Wilkinson followed on Wednesday (past press time) before the Bulldogs returned home to face Jasper County for a 6 p.m. start on Thursday.
