James Vernon Gordy, 87, passed away on Feb. 27, 2026.
Moores Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Harriett, sons Aubrey (Tammy) and Doug (Sherri), grandchildren Parker (Kelsey), Hannah, and Jacob, and several nieces and nephews. Gordy was a native Toombs County. He worked as a businessman in Chatham County for many years. He served over 30 years in the Lions Club and was a faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Milledgeville.
