The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce welcomed another local business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 12 for 1-800 Water Damage of Central Georgia, based in Milledgeville (101 Chase Ct., Ste. B). The event celebrated the company’s expansion into Putnam County and underscored its commitment to community engagement and service.
“Ribbon cuttings are one of the things we love to do because they demonstrate that the community is growing,” E-P Chamber President Robbie King said. “Whether it’s a new business or an existing one expanding into our area, it’s always a good sign of progress.”
Company officials from 1-800 Water Damage expressed their enthusiasm for joining the local chamber. Phillip Joiner, who oversees community relations, said the decision to join the E-P Chamber was a natural extension of 1-800 Water Damage’s growing work in the region.
“We have so much business that we do in Putnam County that we thought, why haven’t we joined the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber? We heard great things about it, and of course Robbie has not only delivered but over-delivered. He’s already connected us with so many people in this community we didn’t yet know,” Joiner said.
Joiner also noted the company’s ongoing community involvement, referencing a recent initiative for First Responders Day in which it helped provide over a three-day period, meals for every Putnam County firefighter and EMS member.
Also at the ceremony were company owners Michelle Hogg and her husband Gary Hogg, who also owns Hogg Insurance in Milledgeville, along with co-owners Anna and Jordan Demmon.
“We’re a family-owned and operated business,” Jordan Demmon said. “Rather than relying on billboards or online ads, we focus on building relationships. If we can get to know people and earn their trust, that’s how we want our business to grow.
Demmon explained that 1-800 Water Damage does property restoration for both commercial and residential clients.
“We do anything, fire, water, mold, sewage, anything bad that can happen to a home or business, we take care of that, and then we put it back to what we call pre-loss condition or even better,” he said, adding that the company is presently working on a significant project in Putnam County.
“We’re not a company that loves to just buy billboards or live in the digital world,” Demmon added. “We’re a family-owned and operated business. We like the relationship- type referrals, just getting to know people and helping people.”
