Woman caught shoplifting multiple times
On Nov. 20, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart, 2592 N.
Columbia St., in reference to a previous shoplifting. Asset Protection provided an investigation on Lindsey Irish stemming from previous shoplifting incidents. On Oct. 8, Irish was found to have failed to scan two items by concealing them in a Walmart bag. The items concealed were a Portsmouth Brick Vinyl Wallpaper and a banana pudding tray, with the items valued at $45.85 before tax. Irish was recorded on Walmart security footage passing the last point of sale before exiting the store with the concealed merchandise. On July 12, Irish failed to scan or used alternate stickers for seven items at the self-checkout. The items totaled to be $82.15 before tax.
On July 31, Irish failed to scan or switch out tags for 26 items while in the self-checkout. The total itemized list was valued at $450.25. Irish then passed the last point of sale and exited the store.
On Sept. 7, Irish failed to scan two items valued at $22.94 while at the self-checkout. The two items were concealed in a Walmart shopping bag.
A warrant for theft by taking and three for theft by shoplifting will be secured for Irish.
Father and son get into drunken fight
On Nov. 28, law enforcement was dispatched to 150 Harrisburg Rd. in reference to damage to property.
Two males, later identified as Barry Hill Sr. and Barry Hill Jr., were in the front yard of the residence fighting on the ground. Both were determined to be intoxicated. Hill Sr. stated Hill Jr. arrived at his residence and kicked down the front door. Hill Sr. stated they then began to fight in the front yard as he was trying to hold Hill Jr. down. An officer observed the glass storm door of the residence lying on the floor of the entryway. Hill Sr. stated that he and Hill Jr. both live at the residence. The officer was unable to identify a primary aggressor and unable to ascertain which subject kicked in the door. Barry Hill Sr. was placed under arrest. EMS arrived and assessed Hill Jr., who requested to go to the hospital. Hill Jr. was turned over to medical services while Hill Sr. was transported to the jail with no further incident. Upon arrival at the emergency room, Barry Hill Jr. refused medical treatment and was placed under arrest. One state warrant is pending on Hill Sr. for affray. One state warrant is pending on Hill Jr. for affray.
Woman attempts to steal $700 worth of items
On Nov. 28, law enforcement responded to Walmart, at 2592 N.
Columbia St., in reference to loss prevention having a shoplifting suspect in custody. Kristen Mack was reportedly acting in a suspicious manner while selecting merchandise in several departments around the store. Mack entered the self-checkout, where she scanned items but also concealed and swapped the tags of others. Once past the last point of sale, she was escorted to the Lost Prevention office. The total property taken cost $708.68. Mack was charged for felony theft by shoplifting and trespassed from Walmart.
