The Exchange Club of Milledgeville celebrated its 40th anniversary with a luncheon held Sept. 19 at The Club on Lake Sinclair. The milestone event brought together current and past members, elected officials, community friends, and Exchange leadership from the state and national levels.
Club President Jordan Norville welcomed attendees, setting the tone for a day of reflection and celebration. Guests included several members of the Georgia District Board: Rhonda Busby, District President; Jack Roberts, Convention Manager and VFR; Lisa Glisson, President of the CAP Foundation; Milton Sampson, Past District President and District Director; and Gary Knight, First Vice President. Representing the National Exchange Club was Fussell Hughes, National President-Elect.
Both Busby and Hughes shared inspiring remarks about the mission and future of Exchange, while Josh Lassiter, treasurer of the Milledgeville Club, delivered a heartfelt history of the club’s four decades of service and impact in the community.
One of the most memorable moments of the luncheon came when Jeff Wells, district president- elect and Milledgeville club member, presented a special recognition to Billy Griner, the only remaining charter member still active in the Exchange Club of Milledgeville.
Over the past year, the club completed approximately 49 projects supporting Exchange’s Programs of Service — Prevention of Child Abuse, Youth, Americanism, and Community Service.
“This celebration was not only a time to look back on our history but also to look forward with excitement,” said Norville. “For 40 years, our members have worked together to serve Milledgeville, and we’re eager to continue making an impact for decades to come.”
The Exchange Club of Milledgeville meets at The Club on the first and third Thursdays of each month at noon.
