The Baldwin County School District announced the recipients of its new monthly trophies, recognizing schools that are going above and beyond in key areas of safety, attendance, and school culture.
Each month, schools across the district will have the opportunity to earn these trophies, which will be passed to the next school who wins at the following board meeting.
“We hope to kindle the fires of competition, allowing each school to earn multiple trophies for the month, hang on to their own, or win for the first time,” wrote Eric Jones, BCSD coordinator of School and Community Relations, in The Baldwin Beat on the district’s website.
Lakeview Primary is the first recipient of the Stop the Prop Award, presented for keeping exterior doors shut and ensuring the building remains secure during inspections.
“School safety is always a top priority, and Lakeview Primary has demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment for students and staff,” Jones wrote.
Baldwin High School earned the award for Greatest Employee Attendance. This award reflects high levels of staff attendance and the dedication and professionalism of BCSD employees, ensuring that students benefit from consistent instruction and support.
Lakeview Academy is the winner of the Greatest Student Attendance Award.
“Strong student attendance is critical to academic achievement, and Lakeview Academy students have shown their commitment to being present and engaged in learning,” wrote Jones.
BCSD looks forward to recognizing more schools in the months ahead as this new tradition continues.
