Deep Roots celebrates two decades of music

The Deep Roots Festival is thrilled to announce its 22nd anniversary event set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 18 in downtown Milledgeville.

This edition of the festival promises to be a spectacular day of live entertainment, arts and crafts, food, activities for all ages, and music. The Deep Roots Festival isn't just about music; it's about a vibrant community coming together to celebrate.

The day will include an open car show with 100 vintage cars from the Old Capital Car Club's Open Car Show while the main stage will offer non-stop, free entertainment for all ages throughout the day, including musicians to local dance performances.

The KidZone is the perfect play area for children, featuring inflatables, rock climbing walls, zip lines, and more. An unlimited KidZone pass is available for purchase.

Patrons can stroll through the Artist Market and explore over 100 booths of unique creations from regional artists.

Patrons can also view the big screen TV to showcase the highly anticipated Georgia Bulldog vs. Ole Miss game. Kickoff will be announced at a later date.

Grill masters are invited to compete for over $3,000 in cash prizes in the Steak Cookoff Association contest. The steaks are provided while the grill and chef skills are brought by the contestants.

Festival food cravings can be satisfied with a variety of food trucks offering Polish sausages, funnel cakes, street tacos, and more. Additionally, over 20 restaurants downtown are ready to serve the crowds.

For the main event, this year’s lineup features a showcase of local talent. Stay tuned for the announcement on all Deep Roots Festival social media channels on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m.
