Leah Frazier

Milledgeville native Leah Frazier spent her whole life involved in the community and plans to continue to do so in the place she loves most.

“We grew up a really close family. We did everything that Milledgeville had to offer whether it be gymnastics, dance, or more. My mom took over Girl Scouts here. Anything and everything we could do we were going to do and be a part of the community, which also included bible studies at our church,” said Thomas.

Born and raised in Baldwin county, Frazier attended Georgia Military College until she graduated high school. She went to Kennesaw State University (KSU) for college her freshman and sophomore years before deciding to return home.

“I could not escape the feeling of not being at home. The big life was just not for me and taking 20 minutes to go two miles was just not okay,” said Frazier.

After returning to Milledgeville, Frazier finished out her college education at Georgia College & State University where she majored in mass communication.

“I had spent my entire life running my mouth and that was what I was going to do forever. Communications fell into my lap, and I have loved every second of it.”

Frazier secured a job as the communications and programs specialist with the Milledgeville Chamber of Commerce before even graduating college.

“This platform for me, social media, is telling a story over and over again, and this community and the chamber is one massive story that is constantly being written and rewritten,” explained Frazier. “For me it was how do I make this story come true in the best possible light?”

Frazier’s favorite part about the Milledgeville community is that no one is scared to jump in and lend a hand. She feels the community is never going to stand back when someone is in need.

Both of her parents were U.S. Marines and served Baldwin County as deputies. She is heavily involved in her church and likes to focus on outreach to younger kids. She loves hunting, making homecooked meals, caring for her dogs and family, and frequenting the restaurant Kai Thai.

“In the future I’d really like to do more event planning. I love to do event planning and I think community outreach really brings people together in a whole new light.”

Frazier met her now boyfriend, Marine Richard Langston, when she was at KSU, and her dorm was down the road from a Marine base. She later found out he grew up 10 minutes down the road from her. They are now planning a future together in Milledgeville.

“I’m looking to raise a family here…I want to start a family and grow here and set permanent roots here in Milledgeville.”

Frazier plans to spend her life devoted to service in her hometown any way she can.
