Entrepreneur Tracy Wheeler announces campaign for State House

Generational Georgia native and local Republican activist Tracy Wheeler is running for Georgia State House District 128. Tracy cites her community's lack of economic opportunity as her inspiration to serve Hancock, Baldwin, Glascock, Washington, McDuffie, and Warren counties.

'The people who live in District 128 want to work hard and provide for their families, but opportunities are becoming less and less. Young people don't have job options, which forces families out and leaves current residents with few choices for employment,” Wheeler said. “Thanks to Republican leadership, Georgia is the number one place to do business, but what about our district? The current state representative is not advocating for our families, our businesses, or our values.”

Wheeler’s life is a testament to resilience and determination. She started her professional career in the trucking and freight logistics business where, for eight years, she held many positions including billing clerk, office manager, dispatch, customer service, and sales.

Overcoming the loss of her husband at a young age, she embraced the entrepreneurial spirit, and started her own cleaning service while, at the same time, running a tile and marble installation business. Years later she opened her own restaurant.

In 2021, after the tragic loss of her parents to COVID-19, she was inspired to do something good for Georgia. Wheeler’s mother and father instilled in her a deep love for the state and a desire to make it a better place for future generations.

As state representative, she pledges to be a present and active member of the community.

'I ask folks all the time if they know who serves as our state representative. The answer is always no. If elected, I will proactively connect with the people who call this district home. It’s pretty simple; to effectively advocate FOR our citizens, I believe you have to be accessible Tto our citizens,” Wheeler said.
