While living in Milledgeville, Haley Efird married her high school sweetheart and became a mother to her beautiful one-year-old.
Efird had the opportunity to attend Georgia Military College, where she received her associate's in pre-nursing, and a bachelor’s in business. She also attended Central Georgia Technical College where she received her certificate in medical billing and coding.
Milledgeville is full of opportunity whether it's education or jobs, Efird has taken advantage of all opportunities that have come her way.
“I worked at The Velvet Elvis Grill and Tap in Downtown Milledgeville for seven years, where I was also the manager for five of those years. While working part-time for Accelutech Inc. for two years,” said Efird. Efird now works full-time as an outside sales representative for Savannah Distribution based out of Atlanta.
Efird also is the new business owner of Tasty Temptations, LLC. Tasty Temptations is a mobile bar trailer that can be booked for a wide range of events.
“We can do it all from weddings, birthday parties, holiday parties, and graduations. You name it and we can do it,” said Efird.
Milledgeville has changed in many positive ways since Efird chose to start her life here. With the abundance of new restaurants, and shopping centers, and the college population continuing to grow, she is excited to watch her new business blossom.
“My husband is originally from Milledgeville, so I chose to attend to college here, and fell in love with the city. The atmosphere that Milledgeville captivates and the people in this town that I have met along the way,” said Efird. When asked why she is raising her daughter here in Milledgeville Efird said, “Because of the amazing school system and the safe environment.”
Milledgeville has taught Efird many things but most importantly she has learned to “work hard, be creative, and not be afraid to fail."
Although Efird didn’t grow up here in Milledgeville, she has been here for nine years.
“I am proud to be a resident here now because I get the small-town feel but also have the city life,” said Efird.
