The Life Enrichment Center (LEC) and Georgia College & State University’s Nonprofit Management class are thrilled to announce their partnership for Milledgeville’s inaugural Jingle Jam on Dec. 9 from noon until 5 p.m.
The class is dedicated to bridging the gap between the Milledgeville community and Georgia College students to foster a healthy and collaborative environment, while also raising awareness for local businesses and the Life Enrichment Center (LEC).
The Life Enrichment Center, established in 1967, provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to engage in meaningful life experiences within their community that embrace personal dreams and desires.
The group envisions a day when the community embraces individuals with developmental disabilities for their commonalities, not differences.
The Milledgeville Jingle Jam will take place at the LEC’s Urban Arts Village on 224 E. Walton St. and will include a variety of activities including free photos with Santa, live music with DJ Showtime, Morning Grind’s Coffee for a Cause truck, bouncy houses, local artisans and vendors, ornament decorating with the Baldwin County Senior Center and the GCSU Office of Sustainability, and spin art and face painting with GCSU’s Delta Zeta’s, Kappa Alpha Order’s, and Theta Chi’s.
“We are so excited for the upcoming Jingle Jam and the opportunity to once again partner with Dr. Ditzel’s nonprofit management class. This group of students has done an amazing job creating this event, and I look forward to seeing the impact it will have on our community,” said Barbara Coleman, executive director of the LEC. “They have designed this to be an annual event, therefore, it will live on long after they graduate. What a legacy they will leave.”
