>> SCAVENGER HUNT
Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center (GOCHC) at the Depot will be hosting their annual Lake Sinclair Poker Run on Saturday, June 24.
A Poker Run is a giant scavenger hunt on Lake Sinclair that includes a fun day on the water. Players gather in their boats or other watercraft at Dennis Station in Putnam County at 9:30 a.m. to get maps and instructions. A short briefing with a representative of the Department of Natural Resources follows at 9:45 a.m., after which boats head out at 10:00 a.m.
During the day, players may want to enjoy the cook-out on Goat Island prepared by Aubry Lane’s at The Club (reservations required), explore the lake, and learn some interesting history.
Between 2-3 p.m., players return to Dennis Station where they reveal their cards. Five-card Poker Rules apply, and the two best hands will win a cash first prize of $1,000 or second prize of $500.
