The Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Awards Dinner & Gala June 10 in the Magnolia Ballroom at Georgia College with over 180 people in attendance. The annual awards dinner is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate businesses in the local community.
The following three awards were presented during the evening:
• RisingStaraward– Huff’s Market
• Ambassadorofthe Year award – April Thompson, representing Magnolia State Bank
• MakingaDifferencein Milledgeville Award – Milledgeville Exchange Club The annual awards dinner is also a chance to recognize the Small Business of the year, which was presented to Citizens Bank of The South. This prestigious honor is presented to a local business that has demonstrated success in business while showing positive involvement in the community. This year’s recipient was chosen from among a field of four finalists that also included Amici – Milledgeville, Edward Jones – Financial Advisor: Crystal S.
Law, and Servpro of Baldwin, Putnam and Monro. These finalists were judged based on their business integrity, sustainability, adaptation, and community leadership by a committee comprised of previous small business winners, two current chamber executives from neighboring communities and chamber executive board members.
