Over the weekend, two 17-year-old boys were arrested after reportedly breaking into a number of vehicles in Villamar Apartments on Friday night and breaking a truck window in Revelry Flats.
On Saturday, law enforcement received a call that two males were looking into vehicle windows at Villamar Apartments. One reporting officer, Deputy Benjamin Johnson, stated he parked across the road and noticed a male walking in the parking lot of the complex with a flashlight. Once additional deputies arrived, Sgt. Byrd and Johnson entered the complex on the Log Cabin Road side as Lt. Roberts and Deputy Wright entered the GMC Road side of the complex. The search of the parking lot led Roberts to locate Landon Cole Spivey of Macon. A brief foot pursuit ensued, according to Roberts’ incident report, and during the pursuit Spivey pulled out a firearm from his right jacket pocket. However, before it could be used, Spivey fell to the ground and dropped the firearm, causing it to slide across the pavement.
According to Roberts’ report, the firearm was a black Glock 19 9x19 with a brown 30-round magazine.
Spivey was caught by Roberts, and shortly after, officers located the suspect’s vehicle that had been identified by a caller on Saturday.
“I noticed the hood was still warm, and when I looked in the window, I observed a jar of marijuana and multiple pairs of black gloves,” Johnson wrote in the incident report.
“I also observed a picture on the dashboard of a white male wearing a blue hoodie.
I decided to check behind the group of apartments near the vehicle and located the second subject.”
Johnson located the second offender, Kane Krieger, hiding under a porch. With Krieger, he found a breaking tool next to him and confirmed him to be the male in the dashboard photo.
After taking the pair into custody, surveillance footage was viewed that positively identified Spivey and Krieger.
At the end of the report, Johnson noted that the following morning, day shift discovered five more vehicles that had been entered, and the Milledgeville Police Department had multiple entering autos, including the one in Revelry Flatts.
Spivey was charged with seven counts of entering auto, as well as one count each of possession of a handgun by someone under the age of 18, felony theft by receiving and obstruction of an officer.
Krieger was charged with eight counts of entering auto and possession of tools for commission of crime.
