Employee steals tools from Simmons Service Center

On Sept. 22, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to a theft at Simmons Service Center. Reportedly, employee Tyler Shawn Upright took tools from the business. Video surveillance showed a male subject (matching his description) walking over to a toolbox, looking towards the camera and then proceeding to a second toolbox. At the second toolbox, he grabs a Milwaukee drill and stores it inside a bag in a vehicle parked outside. The complainant also presented text messages showing Upright claiming to return the tools despite never doing so. A warrant for theft by taking was issued for Upright.

Family Heirloom stolen from residence

On Sept. 23, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence in reference to a burglary. When the complainant returned home, she noticed the air conditioner in her living room pushed in and her window open. A 32-inch TCL television and a family heirloom, silver necklace with a diamond pendant, were both missing from the residence. The television was $150 in value and the necklace was worth $400. No damage to the window or air conditioning unit was noticed. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no more information.

Items stolen from trunk of truck

On Sept. 23, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The owner of the truck parked their vehicle the night before and returned home the next day. He found his PlayStation 5 and a pair of red Air Jordan shoes removed from the trunk of his truck. Reportedly, the windows to the truck were left cracked which may have allowed access to the offender to unlock the vehicle. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no more information.

Unknown individual smashes hair salon door

On Sept. 25, law enforcement was dispatched to Van Lee Denise in downtown Milledgeville. Police have been alerted of a damaged door to the business. Upon arrival, an officer found broken glass on the ground and the front glass door to the salon shattered.

The glass door appeared to be broken by a rock which was located on the interior floor of the business. The broken glass was removed from the sidewalk.

No one was located inside the business and no witnesses were located in the surrounding area. The owner was informed of the damages. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no more information.

Couple gets into argument during party

On Sept. 25, law enforcement was dispatched to an apartment complex in reference to a possible subject with a weapon. Upon arrival, an officer made contact with Kelton Jones who stated no one had a knife or was threatening anyone, despite the apartment appearing to be in disarray. He reported that the mess occurred during a party thrown earlier in the evening and that the only argument that occurred was between himself and his girlfriend, Airah Fucuals. A small laceration was observed on the male’s left cheek during his statement. As Jones began to speak to a second officer, Fucuals allegedly became irate and began to yell at him.

She was advised to stop yelling and stay inside, away from Jones. She returned to the bedroom when an officer observed, through the window, her hiding an item under the bed sheets. This item was later identified as a knife. Fucuals was arrested for tampering with evidence and battery. Due to the physical evidence inside the apartment and Jones’ statement, Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property in the second degree.

Unknown offender breaks into apartment

On Sept. 25, law enforcement was dispatched to an apartment in reference to a burglary. The victim returned home to find her back door ajar. A 55-inch LG flat-screen tv worth $400, two pairs of Air Jordan’s worth $400 in total, and two more pairs of shoes and a piggy bank estimated to be worth $80 in total were missing. An officer observed damage to the body of the door and door frame near the latch suggesting a tool was used to break the dead bolt loose for the offender to gain entry. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there are no known offenders.
