What: Medea Play When: (Sept. 28-Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 2, 2 p.m.) Where: Russell Auditorium, 201 N Clarke St, Milledgeville More info: When Jason, Medea’s husband, abandons her and her two children to pursue a new life, Medea faces banishment and separation from her kids. She is granted one day’s grace and goes to destroy everything she holds dear. Recommended for mature audiences.

What: “¡TANGO! Music of Astor Piazzolla” When: 7:30 p.m. Where: GCSU Max Noah Recital Hall More info: This event is in celebration of the 100th birthday of Argentinian composer and Tango master, Astor Piazzola. Guest artists are the Helton-Thomas Duo with saxophonist Jonathan Helton, celloist Steven Thomas and pianist Mariano Manzanelli. Helton and Thomas work in the School of Music at the University of Florida; and Manzanelli teaches in the Department of Musical and Sound Arts “Carlos López Buchardo” of the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires. A $10 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GCSU Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. What: Comfy Funky Pumpkin Patch When: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Where: 347 Horace Veal Road More info: Join Comfort Farms for fall fun at their Comfy Funky Pumpkin Patch. They will have pumpkins of all sizes, crafts, hayrides, the chance to feed the animals at the farm, and food prepared on the property. RSVP on Facebook so Comfort Farms staff can prepare accordingly. What: Full Moon Float When: 7 p.m. Where: Oconee Outfitters More info: Oconee Outfitter’s popular nighttime kayak events will depart the Oconee River Greenway, paddling to the Central State boat ramp. Kayak rentals are available for $35/single, or $60/tandem. Call Oconee Outfitters to make reservations and learn about the shuttle.

What: Roaring ‘20s Murder Mystery Party When: 6 p.m. Where: Dungeons & Daiquiris, 125 S Wayne St, Milledgeville More info: Welcome the month of October with a Golden Age-themed murder mystery! Food and a drink are included with the ticket price, and costumes are strongly encouraged. Tickets are $20 for entree, food, and drink.

What: Kids’ U at Georgia College Fall Break When: 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday through Friday) More info: Kids’ University is offering one week of fun for kindergarten through sixth grade where kids will wear clothes backwards, make funky socks, explore new places, and more. Special guests include a real scientist from Georgia College and a children’s fitness instructor to get us up and moving! What: Thriller 5K When: 5 p.m. Where: Central State Hospital, 620 Broad Street, Milledgeville More info: Are you ready to run for your life and get your heart pounding? Join ZTA (and the zombies) as they host the frightfully fun Thriller 5K on Friday, Oct. 21. Kicking off at sunset in the Pecan Grove at the historic Central State Hospital campus, the Thriller 5K loops racers through the most historic and iconic points on campus. Runners beware: for a fun Halloween twist, zombies chase the racers around the 5K loop.

What: Deep Roots When: 10 a.m. to midnight Where: Milledgeville Main Street More info: Deep Roots is the highlight of Milledgeville’s fall events and each year we eagerly await its awesome music, tasty food, fun activities and the chance to gather with our people. Free admission includes the artist market, open car show, locals only stage, commercial corridor, food truck row, tiny tot land, kidzone vending area, and pop-up performances. The evening concert (30) and kidzone unlimited pass ($10) will require purchase.
