Male attacks ‘friend ‘after refusing to leave residence

On May 6, law enforcement responded to 1980 Briarcliff Road in reference to an assault. Law enforcement met with a witness and the victim who stated their friend, Dylan Case, had attacked the victim after being told to leave. Reportedly, the victim and Case had argued throughout the day which eventually led to the victim asking Case to leave. Case refused to leave and grabbed the victim by her thumb and bent it backwards. The witness stated that he confronted Case and Case placed a set of handcuffs around his knuckles before approaching the victim again. The witness reported that he was not going to let any more harm come to the victim, so he defended her by striking Case in the face with a closed fist. An officer noted seeing bruising and swelling on the victim’s thumb. Other officers located Case a short distance away near the edge of Briarcliff Road. Case stated he was attacked by Lawrence for no reason but was unable to explain why the victim’s thumb was injured, and a set of handcuffs were located in a case on Case’s belt. Case was then placed under arrest for battery and transported to the Baldwin County Jail. Both Campbell and Case were checked and cleared by EMS on scene.

Tractor joy ride gone wrong

On May 7, law enforcement responded to a call from 800 North Glynn Street in reference to damage to property. The complaint stated he arrived at the location to find the John Deere tractor, that he kept in a neighboring barn, had been moved to the main building. He stated that someone drove the tractor as he observed that the tractor ran through the garage door and damaged the frame around the entrance. He also observed what appeared to be small footprints in the oil spots around the tractor and small hand prints on the bucket part of the tractor. When looking around the property for more damage, the compliant found a fence run over on the south side of the farm, a support pole to the roof of the barn struck, a closet door was struck in, a 1000-gallon container was scratched from the force of the tractor colliding into it and four windows were damaged. A glass gauge was also damaged on the 1000-gallon container and miscellaneous tools were thrown around the yard. There is an estimated $15,000 worth of damage done to the property. There is nothing further at this time.

Two females shoplift from Dollar General

On May 9, law enforcement responded to 831 South Elbert Street in reference to a possible shoplifting at Dollar General. While in-route to the location, dispatch advised officers that a white female subject was last seen traveling west on East Andrews Street. Upon arriving at the last known location of the female subject, an officer witnessed a shopping cart on the sidewalk and a female subject a few hundred feet. They made contact with the female, later identified as Helana Marie De Benedictis stated she took the $424.89 worth of groceries because she was homeless. At that time, she was detained for shoplifting. Law enforcement then returned to the Dollar General, when a manager advised law enforcement there was a second female suspect who had left the store with another shopping cart of groceries. The second suspect was identified as Marissa Leeann Parker. Parker was captured on surveillance with a shopping cart of unpaid items outside the store worth $274.83. Benedictis and Parker were placed under arrest for Theft by Shoplifting (less than $500.00) and trespassed from the property.
