Free tax preparation services for Milledgeville area residents are now available due to a partnership with Georgia College & State University and United Way. The program is now offering twice the capacity to assist local community members with their 2024 tax returns.

Man attempts to flee arrestOn Feb. 11, law enforcement arrived at 1207 Orchard Hill Rd. to serve an arrest warrant on Timothy Bell. Officers made contact at the front door with William Cook. Cook stated Bell was not at the residence and that he did not live there.

The Oconee Heights Mini Park is near completion. Playground equipment has was installed and signage has been posted on the fence line. The county will need to pour the concrete, lay the mulch, complete the fence and gates, and add security lighting and cameras before the park officially opens.
